Thank you for your interest in being part of the show! Students who participate on the crew will help create the “magic” that allows the story to be played out on stage.
What does the "Crew" do? The crew role is the “back of the house” role where students do things such as build sets, create props, and do lighting and sound effects. Crew will work under the direction of the Stage Managers. They move set pieces on and off the stage, set props, manage curtains, run special effects. They also will be asked to help the actors as needed as well as help keep the backstage quite and safe. They must be quick, quiet and focused backstage so as not to distract the audience from the actors.
When does crew attend rehearsals? Members of the crew will attend work calls during the week, dependent on parent volunteer availability. Crew members must be committed to attending all rehearsals in the final two weeks of the show as well as all performances.
How many crew positions are there? There are a limited number of crew positions (historically 8 total). Students will be chosen for these roles based on lottery from the total group of students who submit their paperwork by Thursday, December 5, 2019. We will let you know before the parent meeting on Friday, December 6th if you were selected as a crew member.
